Review: "The 39 Steps"

By Marina

The second show we saw in London was called 39 Steps. This show was a remake of the movie by Alfred Hitchcock, and both have very distinctive similarities and differences between the movie and the play. Both the movie and the show were the same because they had the same plot, characters, and settings, but the movie is much more serious and suspenseful but also has a bit of comedy put in. The play never had any seriousness or suspense in it, because it was a slapstick version of the movie. There were also only four people who played several different characters at once. They were always going on and off stage to set the props, put on a different costume, and making the audience laugh.
